A Public Affairs Analyst, Henry Olenimoyo has said embarking on industrial action is a fundamental right of the Organized Labour and as such, there should not be a court injunction to restrain strikes.

Recall that the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC had directed its members and affiliate unions to embark on an indefinite strike from November 14, 2023 as protest against the physical attack on the NLC President, Joe Ajaero.

Elenimoyo while speaking on Crest FM’s Breakfast Show, Eyi Ara, said the strike became imperative due to the lawlessness of those who are supposed to uphold the law.

Asked why the NLC didn’t approach the court to seek justice for the attack on the NLC President, Olenimoyo said Nigerians have overtime lost trust in the judicial system.

He further stressed that industrial action remains one of the best way workers can express their grievances.
